PC’s for Charity Scheme Up and Running Again

May 2020

Following on from an uncertain time where we've had to put our PC's for Charity campaign on hold we're delighted to announce, now that lockdown measures are being relaxed, that we can start donating again.

So far this year we've helped 5 charities and just before lockdown we had another 5 charities lined up and we'll be contacting these people in the coming days to organise safe handover of the machines.

The first charity we've been able to help since lockdown is Sheffield charity City Hearts and we were happy to hand the PC's over to them this week.

Lydia Beck of City Hearts said: "The impact of Cov-19 on everyone has been huge. For many of our clients, the impact has felt like a reminder of the lockdown they were in during their trauma, and we’ve done all we can to adapt our support to ensure they can still get access to everything they need during this scary time.

Many feel extra isolated as they don’t have access to internet or devices. The impact of having 2 new computers at City Hearts will not only allow us to work more efficiently and spend more time with clients, but can help us create a more sustainable work place for our staff. Both PC’s are now placed in our safe houses and will be an incredible help to the work we do. Thank you Affinity!"

As we are in no doubt demand will be high this is where you come in!

If you can donate any used laptops or PC's to us please get in touch with Elliott at Affinity. We’ll sort out cleaning the machines down in line with GDPR regulations and pass them on to charities who have registered with us and are most at need right now.

We help charities of all sizes and usually donate 2 PC’s per charity so that we can share out what we have.

So if you are a charity local to us reading this and would like to register to go onto our waiting list then then you can contact Elliott Armitage via email or on 0114 362 7000.
