Affinity IT Donate PC´s to Local Charities

Oct 2019

Here at Affinity charity is very close to all of our hearts and we like to give back wherever we can.

One of our largest clients recently replaced their suite of PC’s and asked us if we could do something good with the machines that they had replaced and would be returning to us.

With that in mind we have approached several charities local to Affinity here in Sheffield and so far we have helped 7 with donations of the PC’s.

The first charity to benefit from the PC’s was SCCCC (Sheffield Churches for Community Care) who are a local charity that provide older people with a helping hand when they need it most with their ‘Good Neighbours Scheme’ amongst other services.

Ericka Hill of SCCCC said “As an expanding charity we recently moved to larger premises at President Buildings. We recruited new staff members including an administration apprentice and two new staff members who all needed PC's.

Luckily for us we had good neighbours! A chance meeting with Rich Davies from Affinity at a Sheffield Chamber of Commerce networking event resulted in the donation of three redundant PC's.

We are extremely grateful to Colin and the team for this generous donation, the gifted PC's will have saved the charity well over £1,000.

Affinity also raised money via their Facebook page for us too, which was a very kind gesture.”

Next up was the turn of Hallam FM Cash for Kids who are Bauer Radio’s network of local charities, which operate across 22 areas around the UK including Sheffield.

Their mission is to respond to the needs of children in their communities, and they aspire to enable all children to live life to the full and achieve their individual potential.

Allan Ogle, charity manager for Cash for Kids said: "With the rapid development of the digital age, it's so important to ensure everybody has access to computers and the internet to support education and employment opportunities.

"Our charity are inundated with requests from community groups, charities and schools needing help with IT infrastructure and we also support individual families helping children with learning disabilities. The donation of computers from Affinity IT makes a huge difference to the young disadvantaged people we help."

Weston Park Cancer Charity also benefitted and Fundraiser Charlotte Swinhoe said "We’re very grateful to Affinity IT for the donation of PCs to our Charity. This enables us to continue the work we do supporting those living with and beyond cancer. For one in two of us, cancer will change everything. When it does, so can we.

Weston Park Cancer Charity is here to face cancer with you. Our services, advice, therapies and support are for you and the people close to you, helping everyone to live with and beyond cancer.

The funds we raise also support vital, pioneering research and clinical trials led by the exceptional medical experts at Weston Park Cancer Centre.

It’s our job to care in every sense for our patients and their families. Our help is free, and we’re here for you, together at every step."

Affinity MD, Colin Beaumont, said “It’s really heart-warming to know that, thanks to the generosity of our clients and some time from ourselves, equipment donations are making a real difference to such worthwhile causes around Sheffield.

Being Affinity’s home town, we take a special pride in helping make a difference to people where we can.”
