Ever spent too long hunting through your computer’s Settings menu, trying to find one small option? You know it’s in there somewhere, but locating it can be surprisingly time-consuming.
Microsoft is working on a solution for that. The company is testing a new AI Agent within Windows 11 that is designed to simplify how users find and change system settings.
Unlike Copilot, which opens as a separate chat window, this AI Agent is built directly into the Settings search box. You simply type what you want to do in plain English, such as “make the screen brighter” or “turn on voice control,” and the AI finds the right option or applies the change automatically.

What sets this feature apart is that it runs locally on your device, not in the cloud. That means your requests stay private and the response time is almost instant. Microsoft has tuned the system to focus on the most commonly used settings, so you get accurate results without endless scrolling.
Saving Time for Everyone
It might sound like a small update, but it could make a real difference in the workplace. Instead of waiting for IT support or searching online for help, employees can now ask the AI Agent directly and get results in seconds.
That means fewer interruptions, less downtime, and more confidence when using technology. Over time, those small gains add up to better productivity and smoother workflows.

The AI Agent is currently available for Copilot+ PCs through the Windows Insider Program, but it gives us a clear look at where Windows is heading; faster, smarter and more intuitive.
